This means that (according to the CC terms) wiki authors give permission for other people to share (copy, distribute and transmit the work) and remix (adapt the work). However, content must be shared under the same license.
Guidelines for reposting content from other websites:
- If you don't own the content, but it's licensed under Creative Commons or explicitly public domain, you can repost it to the wiki. However, if the original source is going to be around for a while (a permanent web page), please just post an excerpt or summary, and a link to the original page. I don't want to encourage lots of duplicate information.
- If you don't own the content and it's not licensed under Creative Commons, use "fair use" guidelines to summarize or excerpt, and link to the original page. If you want to post more than an excerpt, contact the original author for permission, and please give a full citation for the content (author, source, link, etc.).
